The DMNA 2025 Annual Meeting is coming up on Monday, October 27. This year’s event will take place at the Mill City Museum, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Please join us for a Happy Hour and Resource Fair (featuring civic and nonprofit organizations) from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. There will be complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and musical entertainment provided by Benny Weinbeck. Confirmed Resource Fair participants include: DMNA, BAZTECMN, Be That Neighbor, Downtown Improvement District, Gethsemane Community Garden, Mad Dads, Mill District Safety Walks, Move Minneapolis, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board – Downtown Parks, Minneapolis Elections and Voter Services, and Somali Youth Link.
The business meeting will start at 6:45 p.m. The agenda will include updates from elected officials and elections to the DMNA Board of Directors. Confirmed elected officials include Representative Esther Agbaje, Senator Bobby Joe Champion, MPRB Commissioner Elizabeth Shaffer, Ward 3 Council Member Michael Rainville, and Ward 7 Council Member Katie Cashman.
Elections to the DMNA Board of Directors will also take place at the Annual Meeting. We have five seats up for election this year: three with a three-year term, and two with a two-year term. You must live, work, or own property in the Downtown East or Downtown West neighborhoods to be eligible for a seat on the board.
