NICOLLET HOTEL BLOCK – NEW DESIGNS (6:00 pm)
Provide input on Downtown’s next landmark project
With new hotel and residential partners in place, United Properties will bring their new designs for the Nicollet Hotel Block redevelopment before the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association prior to moving forward with final City approval and land purchase.

United Properties won development rights for the former Nicollet Hotel site (bounded by Washignton Ave, Nicollet Mall, Hennepin Ave & 3rd St) through a competitive RFP process. Site challenges and hotel/residential partnership changes forced adjustments to the initial design. With a new architect and development partners in place, United will be ready to unveil revised designs in early April.

HENNEPIN AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION – PRELIMINARY DESIGN CONCEPTS (7:00 pm)
Provide early input on reconstruction design concepts
Hennepin Avenue is scheduled for complete reconstruction between Washington Ave. & 12th Street in 2020. To secure funding for the project, Public Works has begun early planning and public engagement. The City will present initial design concepts to the DMNA Land Use Committee. (A first round of public meetings were held in February. Additional public engagement on design details will occur through 2017.)

11TH AVENUE PROTECTED BIKE LANE (7:30 pm)
The adopted 2016 City budget includes funding for protected bikeways. This includes a proposed protected bike lane on 11th Ave S between 6th St S and West River Pkwy. After a February presentation from City staff, the DMNA Land Use Committee requested that City explore alternative designs that would preserve parking along Gold Medal Park. Project staff will present an update.
