DMNA 2023 Annual Meeting Agenda

The DMNA 2023 Annual Meeting is on Monday, November 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  There is a neighborhood social from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the business meeting will commence at 7 p.m.  Please join us for a fun night that includes entertainment by Benny Weinbeck, free food, and a cash bar!

7:00 pm Welcome and Introductions by DMNA Board President Andy Gittleman

§ Introduction of current DMNA Board Members

§ Recognition of outgoing board members (if any – anticipating Joe Tamburino and Pam McCrea)

§ 2023 Accomplishments

§ Looking ahead to 2024 and beyond (Introduction of 2035 Plan)

7:10 pm Treasurer’s Report by Abby Larson
7:15 pm Historic Building Signage Presentation by Dianne Walsh – 20 New Buildings added in 2023

7:20 pm Elections to the DMNA Board of Directors

§ Introduction of the candidates (Call for nominations from the floor if any) – Candidates have 2-3 minutes to introduce themselves (Bios are available on the website)

§ Voting via Ballot (You must live, work or own property in Downtown East or Downtown West to vote in the DMNA Board Election.  The top three vote getters will serve three-year terms)

7:30 pm Updates by Elected Officials

§ Ward 3 Council Member Michael Rainville (CONFIRMED)

§ MPRB Commissioner Elizabeth Shaffer (CONFIRMED)

§ Senator Bobby Joe Champion (CONFIRMED)

§ Representative Esther Agbaje (INVITED)

7:40 pm Community Book Read Kickoff presented by DMNA Executive Director Christie Hantge 

§ Author Charles Adams – Twin Cities: My Life as a Black Cop and Championship Coach

§ Books will be available for sale at a reduced price ($15) and the author will be signing books.

7:45 pm DMNA 2023 Volunteer of the Year Awards presented by DMNA Board Vice President Pam McCrea
7:50 pm Concluding Remarks by DMNA Board President Andy Gittleman

§ Preliminary un-official election results (Results are subject to verification by the Executive Director and an outside third party to ensure accuracy.  Official results will be posted by Wednesday, November 8 at 5 p.m.)

§ “Be That Neighbor” video presentation
