The 2022 Minneapolis Aquatennial begins this Wednesday! Enjoy a jam-packed schedule on July 20 – 23 with 20+ events for all ages to enjoy, book-ended by the CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade on Wednesday, July 20 and the Target Fireworks on Saturday, July 23. In between, enjoy high-flying water skiing performances by the Twin Cities River Rats, an Alchemy 365 workout at the Mpls Sculpture Garden, outdoor movies, music, a salsa cook-off, and much more. There is something for everyone to love at our city’s official civic celebration.

CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade
July 20th at 7:30pm | Nicollet from 12th St. to 4th St.
Enjoy the Aquatennial’s CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade, set to take place Wednesday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. on Nicollet beginning at 12th Street and running to 4th Street. Join the community as they gather and watch floats, displays and bands march through the heart of mpls downtown. It’s the largest evening parade in the state of Minnesota. This year’s CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade Grand Marshals will be six honorees representing the 50th anniversary of Title IX: Peg Brenden, Tasha Feigh, Liz Lissimore, Fartun Osman, Jessie Stomski Seim and Lindsay Whalen. Our emcees will again be K102’s Chris Carr & Company. Target Fireworks
July 23rd at 10pm | West River Parkway
Join the Minneapolis Aquatennial in celebrating another year of with the Target Fireworks, considered one of the top five annual fireworks displays in the nation. Get there early! Space fills up pretty quickly at this beloved event along West River Parkway. Music and activities run from 5-10 pm. The best spots are between Gold Medal Park and the 3rd Avenue Bridge on West River Parkway. Plus, enjoy craft beverages with Fulton Beer, great food, the Mpls Craft Market and City of Lakes Market featuring fantastic local small businesses, live music and more. This year’s simulcast will be broadcast on 101.3 KDWB! Listen in while you watch the pyro-musical—the display is choreographed in its entirety down to 1/100th of a second to the beat. Alchemy 365 Cardio Class
July 22nd at 5:30pm | Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
Let’s celebrate summer in the city! Alchemy 365 is taking over the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden for a free Cardio class to celebrate the Minneapolis Aquatennial! Check-in will begin at 5 pm and class will begin at 5:30 pm. Class is free and all fitness levels are welcome – bring your own yoga mat and get ready for a good time. This 50-minute class starts with a gradual, yet progressive warm up integrating fundamental yoga postures to get the body moving and the heart pumping. >> Schedule of events
Twin Cities River Rats Water Ski Show
July 21st and 22nd at 7pm | West River Road along Mississippi River
Take in an amazing, high-flying water ski show with the Twin Cities River Rats! This year, the River Rats present Super Mario World. Join Mario and Luigi, and their friend Princess Peach, on their quest to rid the water ski world of villains and the dreaded Bowser. Super Mario World is filled with adventure, including high-flying jumps, tall pyramids, powerful balancing acts, and barefoot tricks. Learn to Roller Skate at Aquatennial

Get your skate on during this year’s Aquatennial! Join us in The Commons on July 21st at 5 pm for a night of music and roller skating. There will be a live performance by JoJo Green starting at 5pm, and the Twin Cities Skaters will be providing free roller skate rentals while supplies last until 7 pm!
