The DMNA 2024 Annual Meeting is coming up on Tuesday, October 29. This year’s event will take place in person at the Mill City Museum, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please join us for a Happy Hour and Resource Fair from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and musical entertainment provided by Benny Weinbeck. There will be information tables featuring the following organizations:
- Be That Neighbor
- Downtown Improvement District
- Hennepin County Voter Engagement
- Mill City Farmers Market
- Mill District Safety Walks
- Minneapolis League of Women Voters
- Move Minneapolis
- Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board
The business meeting will start at 7 p.m. Hear from elected and public officials, including Community Safety Commissioner Todd Barnette. We will also host elections to our board of directors and present our 2024 Volunteer of the Year Award.
Gift cards to local restaurants, plus a GRAND PRIZE, which is a one night stay at the Marquette Hotel and tickets to a Big 10 Basketball game on February 25, 2025. Must be present to win.
The DMNA 2024 Annual Meeting is open to all Downtown East and Downtown West residents and is free to attend, but please RSVP via Eventbrite so that we can plan accordingly for food and refreshments.
Elections to the Board of Directors will take place at this meeting. We have four seats up for election this year, three with a three-year term, and one with a one-year term. You must live, work, or own property in the Downtown East or Downtown West neighborhoods to be eligible for a seat on the board. The DMNA Board will also be giving out the 2024 Volunteer of the Year Award at our Annual Meeting. We are currently seeking nominations for this award.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is the highest honor offered by DMNA. It began to honor an individual who has advanced the mission of the DMNA to promote the common good and general welfare of the residents, businesses, and employees of Downtown Minneapolis.
Any individual who lives, works, or owns property in Downtown East or Downtown West that advances the mission of the DMNA through their volunteerism or advocacy is eligible. Generally, current board members and current employees are not eligible. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the staff and board of directors. Recipients are chosen by a small group comprised of the DMNA board and committee leadership. Candidates offered by October 1 will be considered. Please submit your nominations via the link below:
