Housing / Homeless Outreach

During the planning process for Phase I of the Neighborhood Revitalization Program, the Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association identified four strategic priority areas to target investment: Arts, Culture & Education; Crime and Safety; Downtown Development; and Housing. These four priorities carried forward to Phase II of the Neighborhood Revitalization Program, as well as in the Neighborhood Priorities Plan.

The goal of the Housing / Homeless Outreach strategic priority is to maintain and build upon the strength, vitality, and stability of the neighborhood by providing a variety of housing opportunities to meet the needs of all members of the community.  Below are some projects the DMNA has supported with its Housing and Homeless Outreach monies:

  • Lamoreaux Apartments Renovation Project
  • St. Anthony Mills Apartments
  • Elliot Park Commons Renovation Project
  • Barnabas Housing Renovation Project
  • St. Stephen’s Human Services for Street Outreach
  • Mile in My Shoes
  • zAmya performance at the Guthrie Theater
  • St. Stephen’s Human Services for Rapid Rehousing Program
  • RS Eden for Emanuel Housing
  • Free Arts MN for Youth Programming
  • Giving Voices Choral for collaboration with Emanuel Housing Choir
  • People Serving People for Security Cameras
  • YouthLink Welcome Center
  • Twin Cities Hospitality Worker Relief Program
  • Street Outreach partnership with the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (DMNA funds have supported the Mad Dads violence interrupters and the Hennepin County Social Worker)
