Safety and Security Guide

The Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association (DMNA) is pleased to share the Safety and Security Reference Guide for Property Managers and Desk Attendants, developed as a practical resource for residential buildings throughout the downtown community.

This guide is designed to support frontline staff who play a critical role in maintaining safe, welcoming, and well-managed properties. It provides clear, easy-to-reference information that can be used for daily operations, onboarding, and ongoing staff training.

What’s Included in the Guide

  • Best practices for building safety and security

  • Guidance for responding to common situations and concerns

  • Key contacts and resources for downtown properties

  • Tips for communication, documentation, and coordination

The goal of this resource is to promote consistency, preparedness, and collaboration across downtown residential buildings while supporting the people who work directly with residents and visitors every day.

We encourage property managers to share this guide with desk attendants, concierge staff, and other frontline team members, and to keep it accessible for quick reference.
