Minutes from Board of Directors Meeting on Tuesday, March 30, 2004

I.          Call to Order

Tom Hoch called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.  Other board members in attendance were David Abele, Dee Cotten, Gene Nessly, Jodi Pfarr and Carletta Sweet.  Andrew Hauer and Kim Motes were unavailable.  Christie Rock, DMNA Coordinator, was the only nonboard member in attendance.

II.        Consideration of February 2004 Minutes

The minutes from the February 10, 2004 board meeting were unanimously approved.

III.       Consideration of NRP COPS Initiatives Reserve Fund Proposal

The Chair and Christie Rock (who worked with the Minneapolis Police Department) distributed and explained the proposal they drafted on behalf of DMNA for its Community Oriented Public Safety Initiatives Reserve Fund.  The proposal, which must be submitted to the NRP Office by April 1, 2004, requested $55,000 (at $39.11 per standard hourly rate for approximately 1,400 hours) for the following policing activities:

·        Special Police Operations:  Community Response Team, 400 hours, $15,644 

·        Livability Crimes:  Directed Patrol, 850 hours, $33,244

·        Problem-solving Tactics:  CCP/SAFE, 150 hours, $5,867              

After a brief discussion, the COPS Initiatives Reserve Fund proposal dated March 30, 2004, was unanimously approved.  

IV.       Adjournment

There being no other business to consider, the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
