DESCRIPTION:Join the Minnesota Department of Transportation\, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board\, and your neighbors this Saturday\, Aug. 9\, 11 am-1 pm on the downtown side of the Stone Arch bridge to celebrate reopening the historic Stone Arch Bridge! \nThis family-friendly event is free and open to the public. There will be food trucks\, live entertainment\, interactive activities for all ages\, and a demonstration of construction materials and historical facts. \nStone Arch Bridge Community Celebration\nDate: Saturday\, Aug. 9\, 2025\nTime: 11 am-1 pm\nLocation: Downtown side of the Stone Arch Bridge\, near Water Works (425 West River Parkway) \nMore about this project\nStone Arch Bridge construction was completed in July 2025. Crews began repairing the historic Stone Arch Bridge spanning the Mississippi River on the edge of downtown Minneapolis in spring 2024. They repaired and replaced stones\, replaced the mortar on the entire bridge\, and made other repairs as needed. Stone repair and mortar replacement will slow deterioration and improve the condition of the bridge. \nFor more information\, visit the project webpage.
