DMRA Hires Executive Director

The Downtown Minneapolis Residents Association, Inc. is pleased to announce Mr. Bill Stark as its new Executive Director.

Bill has lived in Minneapolis for 13 years and has a strong commitment to this community and its interests. He has graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, University of Minnesota, and Minneapolis Community College. He has also worked for Harrison Neighborhood Association, which borders the downtown area. He is familiar with the issues that confront downtown residents and is optimistic about addressing these issues in a manner that benefits downtown as a whole.

Bill says that the process needs to include a diverse range of people including, the elderly, professionals, low income residents, and people from all cultures and backgrounds that live in downtown. He believes that we have a great opportunity to coordinate our efforts and implement programs that will have a positive impact on our community.

As Executive Director of DMRA, Bill will oversee the general operations of DMRA. His position will involve a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including organizing residents to determine and address issues important to downtown residents, evaluating the progress of DMRA, and making recommendations to the Board of Directors. He will assist the downtown residents in developing and implementing DMRA programs. Presently, these center around safety/crime issues, the adult entertainment issue, and the Neighborhood Revitalization Program.
