Win Prizes!! Have Fun!!
Meet Neighbors!!
The NRP process requires the downtown community to elect a Steering Committee. The Steering Committee plans the "First Step" process. The election is a great opportunity to get involved in the downtown neighborhood.
The Steering Committee election is Thursday, March 14, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at the Downtown Library Auditorium in Heritage Hall.
The Steering Committee election will also be fun. DMRA has planned a raffle for everyone who attends. Valuable prizes, such as gift certificates to theaters and restaurants will be raffled that night. Also, refreshments will be available for everyone.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet neighbors and show other neighborhoods that the downtown area is a thriving neighborhood with community interests and legitimate concerns.
At the Steering Committee election downtowners will elect the people who will plan the NRP "First Step" process. This is a crucial role in determining how the millions of dollars will be spent. Anyone who lives, works or owns property in the Downtown West, Downtown East, or Downtown North Loop can vote or run for a position on the Steering Committee.
Anyone is invited to nominate hermself or any other person who lives, works or owns property in downtown. To run for a position on the Steering Committee, you or your nomination should complete a Steering Committee position application. Complete and mail the application to DMRA. You can also call DMRA at 220-3836, ask for an application and leave your name, address, and phone number--an application will be sent to you.
