Help study the impact of adult entertainment in your downtown neighborhood. This study can affect the direction of the adult entertainment industry.
Does the adult entertainment industry have a negative impact on downtown such as, attracting crime, creating a negative downtown image, or encouraging harassment? Does it have positive consequences such as, additional tax revenue or promote freedom of expression? What are your concerns?
Residents have an opportunity to evaluate the impact of the adult entertainment industry in the downtown neighborhood. DMRA, through the Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Planning Grant, will launch a campaign aimed at studying the adult entertainment business in the downtown neighborhood. Residents need to voice their opinion. A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 1996 at 7:00-8:00 p.m. to begin evaluating the impact of adult entertainment.
From the community meeting, a task force will be formed. The task force will take the input that residents expressed at the community meeting and create a survey. The task force will distribute the survey to downtown residents. It will ask about the concerns that residents have about the adult entertainment industry. The task force will take the results of the community meeting and survey to search for solutions to any resident concerns about the adult entertainment industry.
Again, the community meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 1996 between 7:00-8:00 at Heritage Hall in the Downtown Minneapolis Library.
