MAJOR DOWNTOWN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
Offering 238 condominiums on floors 15 through 28 in a multi-use
building, Centre Village has many locational advantages and the
comfort of skyway connections in two directions. The Metrodome
is four blocks east. Downtown shopping is five blocks west-all
via skyway. Guest lodging (Crown-Sterling Suites Hotel) and a
major public parking ramp are immediately accessible in the same
building, beneath the Centre Village condominiums. Amenities include:

The Crossings Condominiums is a 306 unit, 19-story building located
three blocks from the Mississippi River and three blocks from
the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Skyway connections provide
year-round, climate-controlled access to downtown's shopping,
service and entertainment opportunities. Building amenities include:
outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, party room, weight room with Nordic
Track, underground parking, and landscaped area on roof. Common
areas of the building have recently been remodeled.
In 1989, Hennepin Crossing opened its doors as the first and tallest
building (25 floors, 210 units) of what makes up the seven-building
downtown neighborhood of Laurel Village. Situated on three city
blocks bordered by Hennepin, Hawthorne and Laurel Avenues between
11th and 15th Streets, the self-contained "village-within-a-city"
offers service retail shops-restaurants, deli convenience store
and dry cleaner-as well as a U.S. Post Office branch. Each apartment
in Hennepin Crossing offers such modern amenities as washer and
dryer, and built-in microwave. All residents of Laurel Village
can take advantage of the on-site recreational areas, including

LaSalle Apartments is the newest of our downtown residential projects
in a renovated 75 year old building-the former YMCA. The 121 apartment
building with 48 unique floor plans features 103 studios, 11 one-bedrooms
and 6 one-bedroom-plus-den units. The penthouse level (12th floor)
features skylights and dramatic layouts. Units began renting
in December, 1994. Each unit comes with a full membership in the
adjacent new YMCA. Guest suites, hospitality room, concierge service
are available to all building residents. Each unit contains a
washer/dryer. Studios have wall beds and built-in tabletops. Some
units offer whirlpool tubs and multilevels.
Rivergate Apartments offer 269 market-rate and subsidized rent
living units in a 16-story building that opened in 1974, a few
blocks from the River. The building features 29 units designed
for disabled residents, a TV lounge on first floor, independently-operated
Montessori school, and courtyard with shuffleboard. Churchill
Mall retail businesses and skyway access are across Second Avenue.
Two bus lines are easily accessible to the building.
RiverWest is the one of the newest downtown residential buildings,
built in 1989. The 416 unit apartment offers studios, 1-and 2-bedroom
apartments and larger penthouses. Mississippi Mile Park is adjacent
to the buildings and the city's Historic Mill District surrounds
RiverWest. Building amenities include an outdoor swimming pool,
fitness center and putting green, whirlpool, sauna, and 2 meeting/social
rooms and guest suites.
Symphony Place Apartments is located across the street from Orchestra
Hall. The building offers 250 one- and two-bedroom apartments.
A major restaurant is located at the base of the building. Skyway
access is available within one block of the building. Building
amenities include tennis and paddle ball/racquetball courts, party
room, indoor pool, sauna, exercise room, and sundeck.
The 314 Apartments, built in 1973, was the first city-sponsored
lower-rent housing in downtown. Persons 62 and older or permanently
disabled qualify for living in the 299 one-bedroom units housed
in the building. Located a few blocks from the Hennepin Avenue
bridge, adjacent to the historic Warehouse District, and four
blocks from downtown shopping and theaters, 314 Apartments offers
a variety of entertainment and recreational opportunities. The
building is smoke-free and offers 24-hour security. Congregate
dining lunches for less than $3 may be purchased by building residents.
A coffee room and laundry room are also available to residents.
The two-building, vertical village known as The Towers was the
first large-scale, high-rise residential construction in downtown.
The building feature 500 condominiums of all sizes. The 1966 building
was originally built as a luxury rental property and was converted
to ownership housing in 1971. Positioned at the northern terminus
of Nicollet Mall and South Hennepin Avenue, the buildings offer
