Dear Chief Olson:

Thank you for speaking at our general membership meeting in August, and sharing your thoughts/discussion with us. We appreciate your support of our neighborhood and willingness to hear our concerns.

The idea you announced of a Downtown Command certainly would enhance the visibility of a police-presence in the neighborhood and be very helpful. It is important too, that the downtown-beat and mounted patrol be dedicated to downtown functions and that their visibility in our neighborhood be increased. We would like to see additional patrol of the residential buildings in our neighborhood.

All of these efforts will help ensure that downtown in reality is, as well as being perceived as, a safe and inviting place and we applaud your idea of a Downtown Command!

We would welcome the opportunity to participate in the planning of this endeavor.
